She is very charming and brilliant and open-hearted and elegant: both in her social manners and in her way of presenting her ideas in literature and art. She is a genuine artist of our times ,dedicated to her vocation and, at the same time, down to earth as far as it concerns her perception of the writer's position in this best-selling global society of ours. She is Rachel Cusk, author of A Life's Work and Arlington Park among other successful books. She just passed from Athens for a couple of hours last week-end and we had a chance to meet her and her family (Adrian Clarke, her husband, and her two fairy like girls) just under the hill where for the past 3000 years Acropolis stands. From Topos Books present were Aris Maragkopoulos, our Editor-in-chief and Artemis Loi, translator and editor as well. They won't forget. |
