Antonis Vaos was born in the island of Milos, Greece. He studied Fine Arts in Rome and acquired his Ph.D. from the Panteion University of Social & Political Sciences in Athens. He is presently teaching as an Assistant Professor at the Early Childhood Education (Art Education) Department of the University of Patras. He has published two books on Aesthetic Education (Institute of Education, Athens 2001)) and Art Education in Greece (Ellinika Grammata, Athens 2000), as well as several articles on art pedagogies and aesthetic education. He has also presented his artwork in various exhibitions in Greece and abroad.

He is the author of Artistic endeavor as pedagogic practice (Topos Books 2008).
