Dionysis Charitopoulos was born in 1947 in Piraeus, where he lived through 1967. He abandoned his studies in Athens and London, pursuing a writing career parallel to other professional endeavors, which he also abandoned --in favor of writing-- in 1990.
A best-selling writer and biographer, Dionysis Charitopoulos is highly respected among intellectuals and academics but also highly popular among mass audiences for his witty, insightful, and deliciously down-to-earth columns.
