Xanthoulis Yannis |
Yannis Xanthoulis was born 1947 in Alexandroupolis to refugee parents. After completing studies in journalism and drawing, he worked as a reporter and columnist for the Greek media, including newspapers, magazines, and radio. He has written and illustrated several children’s books. He has also written over thirty plays that have been performed on stage in Greece.
In the early 1980s, he turned towards fiction and has since devoted himself to writing novels. Today he is one of Greece’s most popular writers and his work has been translated into French, Dutch, English, and Japanese. He lives in Athens and is a member of the Athens Journalists’ Union and the Hellenic Authors' Society. He wrote the legends for a coffee-table book: Just a Spectator: Greek Theatre 1950-1960, Photo Archives K. Megalokonomou.
