Sotiris Babajimopoulos was born in Thessaloniki, Greece, in 1980. He studied Business Administration at the University of Macedonia, Greece, Creative Writing at the University of Leeds, UK, and Media and Communication at the University of Santiago de Compostela, Spain. He is currently a PhD candidate at the English Literature department of the Aristotle University, Thessaloniki.
Babajimopoulos started writing at a very young age, inspired at the time by Agatha Christie’s whodunits. Since his adolescence he has participated in various short story contests and has won several prizes. His short stories have been published in
Tales from the city, stories from the sea (Periplous Editions, 2006), a collection of awarded short stories from the Athens British Council’s contest, in
9SF-9 Greek Writers of Science Fiction (Eleftherotypia publications, 2004), in the weekly SF magazine
9 and in
20+1 stories (Kastaniotis publications, 1999), a collection of awarded short stories from the contest held by Elle magazine.
