An Unknown Greece: 1950-1965. A collection of more than 150 stunning black and white images, many of which have appeared on the front pages of Greece's leading newspapers from 1950 to 1965.
The introduction and comments by writer Aris Maragkopoulos usher the reader along on this photographic record of history, as told through the experiences of common men and women in the post-Civil War period rather than through the lives of protagonists like politicians and other prominent citizens.
It's a sideways look at a country that is less quaint than usually portrayed and more politically aware than its travel-poster image might suggest.
